How Does Refrigerant Work?

As it travels through the system, it changes state between a high-pressure liquid and a low-pressure gas. By doing this, it can absorb heat from the room while also delivering cooler air. While most people think that it simply blows out cool air, it also takes away the warm air from rooms around the home and commercial property.

After absorbing heat from the building, it takes it to the outdoor unit and releases it through condensation. From here, it cools down and travels back to the indoor unit. While we only notice that the building gets cooler, the air conditioning system is furiously working to carry warm and cold air.

Assuming everything is working as expected, this cycle continues every single day. However, the problems come when the air conditioning system experiences a leak. As the system loses refrigerant, it cannot work as efficiently, and you might notice that your rooms don’t cool as quickly as before.
