So, you’re looking for a gaming desk. The time’s finally come to carve out a space to enjoy your favorite hobby truly. Are you an eSports fanatic? Got a thing for shooters? Or only have room enough in your heart for RPGs, racing games, or Sims? Doesn’t matter. There are plenty of options to choose from out there (gaming desks have been trending, after all), but a lot goes into choosing the right setup for your needs.
Luckily, the GIP60 Gaming Desk w/ Mousepad meets all criteria for a gaming station, making it a logical choice for the full spectrum of gamer tastes and purposes. As mentioned above, with a 60” length it provides more than enough space to accommodate any combination of computer, monitors (up to three), console, keyboard, and other gaming accessories. Plus, its curved inner panel comes in as a darkhorse feature for me—you’d be surprised how much of a difference it makes having that slightly rounded edge that allows me to scooch in just a little further (double-plus: way comfier on my wrists).
The GIP60 Gaming Desk comes with a full-length mousepad to create a softer—as well as more secure—surface. Its non-slip rubber base ensures it never slides out of place. The stitching around the edges is precise and consistent enough that it’s hard to foresee any loose threads popping up.
Additional amenities include dual headphone hooks and a cupholder—all gaming desks should come with these, in my opinion, so thanks, Eureka, for meeting that need. And, if you’re prone to messes like I am, including a socket holder, 4 USB charging ports, and 2 racing-style cable grommets will make you look WAY tidier as a person than you may be.
Floor uneven, or worried about potential scuffing? Fear not—the legs of the GIP60 Gaming Desk are all supported by adjustable leveling feet that not only balance your gaming setup to taste but also prevent wear and tear on your floor or carpet. The added convenience from just these little perks ties a perfect bow on an otherwise exceptional gaming desk.
Another reassuring aspect of the GIP60 Gaming Desk I discovered is that every material it’s made from is EPA compliant, including its carbon fiber texture desktop, P2 Standard. I haven’t noticed many gaming desk producers going out of their way to highlight the sustainability of their materials and manufacturing standards, which makes me think I might want to start paying a little more attention to what Eureka Ergonomic is doing.
Any crits? The instruction manual needs work—but of all the gaming desks I’ve put together, this was far from the most difficult to assemble, so there is not much bother. Also, your shipment may come in two separate packages, and these deliveries may be separated by a day or two. A slight frustration I’ve seen from other reviewers. Fortunately for me, mine arrived all at once.
The GIP60 Gaming Desk’s simple yet sophisticated design, sturdy build, and helpful added amenities checked all the boxes for me. When I sit down to game, I’m not worried about a thing, and that’s how it should be. I stand by my overall grade: A.
